The Doubt Function

 

Here is my left hand, 

and here is my right.

The human predicament existed 

for a long time before my birth,

and I have never been 

outside this universe.

All it is I do 

to make sure of things,

I'm afraid 

I'm going to have to,

thoroughgoing, sweepingly,

flipping through the pages,

from sensation to perception 

to attention and so on.
